Seville Airport Passenger Traffic Jumps More Than 11 Percent In April

Seville Airport handled more than 961,000 passengers in April as international travel demand continued driving strong growth across southern Spain.

The airport recorded 961,311 passengers during the month, representing an increase of 11.5% compared with April 2025.

The figures equate to a daily average of more than 32,000 travellers passing through the airport.

International Traffic Leads Growth

Commercial passenger traffic totalled 959,954 travellers during April, excluding general and executive aviation activity.

Domestic routes accounted for 409,688 passengers, representing growth of 2.7% year-on-year.

International traffic grew significantly faster, reaching 550,266 passengers, an increase of 19.2% compared with the same month last year.

International flights represented 57.3% of the airport’s commercial activity during the month.

France, Italy And UK Lead Passenger Markets

France was Seville Airport’s largest international market in April with 117,430 passengers.

Italy followed closely with 113,725 travellers, ahead of the United Kingdom with 100,257 passengers.

Portugal, Germany, the Netherlands and Switzerland also remained among the airport’s strongest international markets.

Several Markets Record Sharp Growth

The airport reported particularly strong growth on routes to Greece, where passenger traffic increased by 53.9%.

Poland recorded growth of 49.5%, while Turkey increased by 39.8%.

Italy, France, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands also posted strong year-on-year growth during April.

Flight Operations Continue Expanding

Seville Airport handled 6,972 aircraft movements during the month, including 6,554 commercial flights.

Commercial aircraft operations increased by 12.9% compared with April 2025.

The airport also processed more than 1,121 tonnes of cargo during the month.

Passenger Growth Continues Through 2026

Between January and April 2026, Seville Airport handled 3,416,493 passengers, representing growth of 9.7% compared with the same period last year.

Commercial passenger traffic during the first four months reached 3,411,100 travellers.

International traffic during the period increased by 15.7%, while domestic passenger numbers rose by 2.3%.

Aircraft operations reached 25,265 movements between January and April, while cargo volumes totalled nearly 3,861 tonnes.
