JetBlue has officially launched its first-ever flights to Italy with the introduction of new daily seasonal service between Boston Logan International Airport and Milan Malpensa Airport.
The new route marks a significant expansion of the airline’s transatlantic network and further strengthens Boston’s role as one of JetBlue’s key international gateways.
The seasonal service will operate daily during the summer travel period.
Milan Becomes JetBlue’s First Italian Destination
The launch of the Milan route represents JetBlue’s debut in the Italian market and adds another major European destination to the airline’s growing long-haul network.
JetBlue now offers nine daily nonstop European destinations from Boston during the summer season.
These include year-round flights to Amsterdam, London Heathrow and Paris, alongside seasonal services to Barcelona, Dublin, Edinburgh, London Gatwick and Madrid.
The Milan launch follows the airline’s recent expansion into Barcelona and forms part of JetBlue’s continued international growth strategy from New England.
Boston Strengthens Position As International Hub
JetBlue president Marty St. George described the Milan service as an important milestone for the airline’s expansion in Boston.
He said the route provides customers across both New England and JetBlue’s wider North American network with greater access to Europe while continuing the airline’s focus on customer experience and competitive pricing.
The airline has increasingly positioned Boston as a central hub for its transatlantic operations.
Milan Airports Welcome New U.S. Connection
Officials at Milan Malpensa Airport said the new service further strengthens the airport’s intercontinental network and reinforces Milan’s importance as an international gateway for Northern Italy.
Aldo Schmid, Head of Aviation Business Development at SEA Milan Airports, said JetBlue’s arrival demonstrates confidence in the strength of travel demand between Italy and the United States.
He added that Boston represents an important destination for tourism, business, culture and academic connections.
The new route is expected to improve connectivity for travellers on both sides of the Atlantic while expanding travel options between Italy and JetBlue’s broader North American network.
