airBaltic Passenger Traffic Rises 7% In Record April Performance

Latvian airline airBaltic carried a record number of passengers in April 2026, continuing its growth momentum with higher traffic, increased flight activity and improved load factors across its network.

The airline transported 437,400 passengers during the month, representing a 7% increase compared with April 2025 and marking the highest April passenger volume in the company’s history.

At the same time, airBaltic operated 4,148 flights across its network, a 6.2% increase year-on-year.

The airline’s load factor also improved slightly, rising by 0.4 percentage points to 75.9%.

Strong Start To 2026 Continues

During the first four months of 2026, airBaltic carried a total of 1.48 million passengers, up 5.4% compared with the same period last year.

The January-to-April result represents the highest passenger volume ever recorded by the airline during the opening four months of a year.

Across the same period, the carrier operated 14,692 flights, reflecting a 5.1% increase compared with 2025.

Growth Follows Record 2025 Performance

The latest results build on a record-breaking 2025 for the airline.

Last year, airBaltic carried 5.2 million passengers across its route network, the highest annual total in the company’s history.

The airline also operated 48,300 flights during 2025, representing a 3% increase compared with 2024.

Expanding Baltic Connectivity

Over the past three decades, airBaltic has expanded into one of the leading carriers in the Baltic region, connecting Latvia and neighbouring Baltic states with destinations across Europe and beyond.

The airline currently serves around 80 destinations, positioning itself as an important provider of regional and international connectivity.

airBaltic said the continued increase in passenger demand reflects both network growth and sustained travel demand across its markets.
