Uber Expands Into Travel With Hotels, Concierge Features And AI Tools

Uber is expanding far beyond ride-hailing with a sweeping set of new features unveiled at its GO-GET 2026 event, positioning the platform as a single hub for transport, travel, delivery and everyday services.

The update reflects a broader ambition to simplify daily life through a unified app experience, combining mobility, commerce and travel planning into what Uber describes as “one app for everything.”

Hotels And Travel Planning Come To The Platform

In partnership with Expedia Group, Uber will introduce hotel booking directly within its app, initially for users in the United States. The offering is expected to scale to more than 700,000 properties worldwide.

Members of Uber One will receive added benefits, including discounts of up to 20% on selected hotels and 10% back in credits on all bookings. Vacation rentals from Vrbo are also set to be integrated later this year.

A new Travel Mode feature will act as a built-in concierge, helping users navigate airports, discover local recommendations and book restaurants through OpenTable. The feature will also introduce services such as hotel delivery for essentials and, in parts of Europe, the ability to book an Uber Boat directly within the app.

Membership Goes Global

Uber is also expanding the reach of its subscription model, allowing Uber One members to use their benefits internationally. Users will be able to earn credits on rides abroad while retaining perks such as zero delivery fees, with credits redeemable once they return home.

The move comes as global travel demand continues to rebound, with Uber aiming to position itself as a companion throughout the entire journey rather than just local transport.

From Errands To In-Car Delivery

A major addition is the “Shop for Me” feature, which allows users to request items from virtually any store, including those not currently listed on the platform. The service is designed to handle last-minute or highly specific purchases, extending Uber’s reach deeper into on-demand commerce.

Meanwhile, “Eats for the Way” introduces a new level of integration between rides and food delivery. In select cities, users will be able to pre-order drinks or snacks that will be waiting in their vehicle when it arrives, combining Uber Eats with premium ride options.

AI And Search Simplify The Experience

Uber is also incorporating artificial intelligence into its booking flow with Voice Bookings, allowing users to request rides through natural conversation. The system interprets preferences and destinations in real time, offering tailored options without the need for manual input.

Complementing this is a redesigned search function that unifies discovery across transport, food and retail. A single query will now generate results across the entire Uber ecosystem, streamlining what was previously a fragmented experience.

A Shift Toward A Super App Model

The GO-GET 2026 announcements highlight Uber’s shift toward a “super app” model, where multiple services converge into one platform. By integrating travel, commerce and mobility, the company is aiming to reduce friction in everyday decision-making while increasing engagement across its ecosystem.

As competition intensifies in both mobility and digital services, Uber’s latest move signals a clear strategy: evolve from a ride-hailing app into a central operating system for daily life.
