Hard Rock Hotels is preparing to make a bold statement in the Mediterranean with the launch of Hard Rock Hotel Malta, a new lifestyle-led property positioned in the heart of St. George’s Bay.
The hotel will feature 397 sea-view rooms, including 25 suites equipped with private heated pools, alongside two executive club floors and a 466 sqm ballroom. Designed to blend contemporary hospitality with the brand’s signature music-driven identity, the property will incorporate curated memorabilia, immersive design and architectural elements inspired by the site’s heritage.
A dual personality: wellness retreat by day, social hub by night
By day, the hotel will offer a relaxed, resort-style environment with yoga sessions, breakfast terraces and poolside spaces. As evening approaches, the property is designed to transition into a high-energy social destination centred on music, cocktails and entertainment.
Located in St. George’s Bay, the hotel will place guests within immediate reach of Malta’s most active nightlife district, while still offering a sense of retreat through its design and amenities.
Extensive dining concept led by Sergi Arola
A major focus of the development is its food and beverage offering, with more than 10 dining and nightlife concepts planned.
Among the highlights is CYANA Aegean Cuisine, a rooftop venue led by Sergi Arola. The concept will combine Aegean culinary influences with local Maltese character, offering charcoal-grilled seafood, mezze and herb-driven cocktails in a setting designed to evolve from daytime calm to evening vibrancy.
Other venues include Sessions, the brand’s all-day dining restaurant, Lebanese concept Al Kasbah and the adult-only rooftop bar Eclipse, which will provide panoramic views across the bay.
Large-scale wellness and leisure facilities
The property will feature 3,800 sqm dedicated to wellness, including the Rock Spa® and Body Rock® fitness centre. Facilities will be complemented by three indoor and eight outdoor heated pools, as well as multiple jetted tubs.
A standout feature is a rooftop cantilever pool – described as the only one of its kind in Malta – designed to offer uninterrupted sea views and sunset experiences.
Positioned within Malta’s growing tourism appeal
Malta continues to strengthen its position as a year-round destination, supported by more than 300 days of sunshine, a growing culinary scene and a reputation for safety and accessibility.
The hotel is located close to Valletta, a UNESCO World Heritage capital, as well as major attractions including the Megalithic Temples of Malta, the Blue Lagoon and the island of Gozo.
Its proximity to Paceville places it at the centre of Malta’s nightlife, while also offering access to cultural, historical and leisure experiences across the archipelago.
Expanding Hard Rock’s European footprint
The launch of Hard Rock Hotel Malta underscores the brand’s continued expansion across Europe, targeting destinations where lifestyle, entertainment and hospitality converge.
With its scale, design focus and integrated entertainment offering, the property is positioned to become a flagship destination within Malta’s evolving luxury hospitality landscape.
