Hard Rock International is expanding its European footprint with the construction of its first hotel in Malta, slated to open in 2026. Located in the bustling St. George’s Bay, the Hard Rock Hotel Malta will feature 394 luxury rooms and bring the brand’s iconic flair to the island’s hospitality scene. This exciting project is part of a larger €300 million mixed-use development, which promises to transform the area into a must-visit destination for locals and tourists alike.
Spanning 20,000 square meters, the development will include a variety of attractions, such as a shopping mall, luxury residences, and a private members club. Visitors will have access to 12 restaurants and bars, including a signature Hard Rock Cafe, along with a supermarket, fitness center, spa, event spaces, and a beach lido. These amenities aim to make the property a hub for both leisure and entertainment in Malta.
The developer db Group has committed to preserving the site’s historical architecture by incorporating the original 1860 British military accommodation quarters into the hotel’s design, blending historic charm with modern luxury. Many rooms will feature balconies with breathtaking views of the Mediterranean, ensuring an unforgettable stay for guests.
Although Hard Rock International has faced some setbacks in Europe—such as the debranding of the Hard Rock Hotel London and Hard Rock Hotel Amsterdam American—the company continues to innovate and grow. The upcoming Hard Rock Hotel Malta reflects the brand’s determination to expand in Europe, alongside other developments like the REVERB Hotel in Hamburg and the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Athens.
With its unique blend of history, luxury, and entertainment, the Hard Rock Hotel Malta is poised to become a key player in the island’s growing hospitality industry.
