76 Flights Cancelled in Puerto Vallarta

A wave of disruption swept through today’s departure schedule, with 76 flights cancelled across major North American routes according to Flight Radar data.

The bulk of cancellations affected services to the United States and Canada, with several key hubs including Denver, Minneapolis, Toronto, Vancouver and Mexico City seeing multiple scrapped departures. The impact is heavily concentrated on Canadian routes and major US hub corridors, while domestic Mexican operations remain comparatively stable.

WestJet leads the disruption across both arrivals and departures, recording 27 total cancellations across the three boards.

Affected cities include:

  • Vancouver (YVR)

  • Edmonton (YEG)

  • Toronto (YYZ)

  • Calgary (YYC)

  • Saskatoon (YXE)

  • Winnipeg (YWG)

  • Kelowna (YLW)

  • Regina (YQR)

Multiple frequencies to Vancouver and Edmonton were cancelled on both arrival and departure legs, suggesting rotation breakdowns rather than isolated directional issues.

Alaska Airlines recorded 15 cancellations across arrivals and departures combined, affecting:

  • Los Angeles (LAX)

  • San Diego (SAN)

  • San Jose (SJC)

  • Seattle (SEA)

  • Portland (PDX)

  • New York (JFK)

Delta Air Lines posted 14 cancellations, with repeated disruption to:

  • Minneapolis (MSP) – multiple frequencies

  • Detroit (DTW)

  • Atlanta (ATL)

  • Salt Lake City (SLC)

Minneapolis stands out as one of the most consistently affected US hubs in both directions.

Viva and Volaris operated all listed arrivals and departures without recorded cancellations in the analysed windows. Domestic connectivity to Monterrey, Guadalajara, Toluca, Tijuana, Queretaro and Silao remained intact.

The US State Department urged American nationals in parts of Mexico to “seek shelter and remain in residences or hotels.”
