Emirates to Launch High-Speed Starlink Wi-Fi Starting November 2025

Emirates is preparing to introduce one of the most ambitious inflight connectivity upgrades in the industry, announcing that it will deploy complimentary Starlink Wi-Fi across its entire in-service fleet. The rollout begins with Boeing 777 aircraft in November 2025 and is set to conclude by mid-2027, bringing high-speed, ground-like internet to passengers across all cabin classes.

The Starlink system will allow customers to stream content, game, join video calls, work, and browse social media seamlessly. Connectivity will be enabled on both personal devices and seatback screens, creating a consistent, fully integrated digital experience throughout the aircraft. Emirates plans to equip all 232 aircraft in service over the next two years, a process already underway with the first Starlink-fitted Boeing 777-300ER, A6-EPF, currently showcased at the Dubai Airshow.

The aircraft will depart on its first commercial flight with Starlink as soon as it re-enters service after the Airshow, marking the start of an accelerated installation schedule. Emirates expects to retrofit approximately 14 aircraft each month. Installation on the Airbus A380 fleet will begin in February 2026, with each Boeing 777 receiving two antennae and each A380 receiving three, an industry first designed to maximize connectivity, capacity and coverage across the airline’s largest cabins.

Live TV over Starlink will also be introduced, initially for personal devices and later added to seatback screens by late December 2025. Access to the service will be free for all passengers, requiring only a single click with no payments or Skywards membership.

Sir Tim Clark, President Emirates Airline, described the partnership as a defining moment in the company’s long-standing commitment to enhancing customer experience. He noted that the integration of Starlink is part of a broader transformation across the fleet that includes new Premium Economy cabins, refreshed First and Business Class suites, and upgraded entertainment technologies.

Clark highlighted Emirates’ insistence on consistency across its global operations. While other airlines vary products between aircraft types, Clark emphasized that customers should enjoy the brand’s best offerings regardless of route or aircraft. The connectivity upgrade aligns with a nearly 220-aircraft retrofit program that has already seen 76 aircraft return to service with enhanced interiors.

Chad Gibbs, Vice President of Starlink Business Operations at SpaceX, said passengers can expect the same level of connectivity in the air that they experience at home. He added that Starlink is working closely with Emirates to support rapid installation while maintaining high service standards.

The Starlink rollout adds to Emirates’ portfolio of onboard enhancements, which includes 6,500 entertainment options, the A380 Onboard Lounge and the signature First Class Shower Spa. With high-speed Wi-Fi now joining the mix, the airline continues to push the boundaries of what long-haul travel can offer.
