Emirates Unveils Next-Generation Airport Lounge Concept

Emirates has revealed its next-generation signature airport lounge concept, introducing a new premium design that will be rolled out across key destinations worldwide as part of the airline’s continued investment in enhancing the customer journey.

The first lounges featuring the new concept have opened in Munich and Frankfurt, with additional locations scheduled to debut in Manchester in July, Mauritius in August, and Istanbul in October. Emirates said it will invest more than AED 50 million in each next-generation lounge, underscoring its commitment to premium ground services across its global network.

The new design draws inspiration from Emirates’ latest aircraft cabin interiors and the airline’s flagship lounges in Dubai. More than 50 design enhancements have been incorporated, including dedicated spaces for dining, relaxation, work, and socializing. Interiors feature herringbone flooring, marble and gold accents, integrated lighting, and the airline’s illuminated Ghaf Tree motif, paying tribute to the United Arab Emirates’ national tree.

Work and Connectivity

The redesigned lounges include expanded workspaces and quieter areas for travelers wishing to stay productive before their flight. Italian eco-leather seating, wireless charging, universal power outlets, and communal work areas have been integrated throughout the lounges, while dedicated art displays showcase both local artists and Emirati culture. Signature Rolex clocks displaying multiple international time zones remain a feature of the lounges.

Enhanced Dining Experience

Dining has been redesigned around interactive culinary experiences, with live cooking stations preparing dishes to order alongside continuously refreshed hot and cold buffets. Menus combine international cuisine with regional specialties and a dedicated “Made In” section highlighting local flavors.

Guests can also enjoy freshly baked pizzas, flatbreads, and manakeesh prepared in dedicated bread ovens. Premium beverages include Emirates’ curated selection of wines, champagne, beers, and spirits, complemented by a new barista bar where specialist coffee, artisan teas, cocktails, and mocktails are prepared by dedicated baristas and mixologists.

Wellness and Relaxation

The lounges have also been designed with wellness in mind. Signature Emirates fragrances featuring bergamot, citrus, jasmine, and soft wood aromas create a calming atmosphere, while fresh flowers and local plants enhance the environment.

Upgraded shower suites include spa-inspired finishes and sustainable VOYA amenities. Separate prayer rooms for men and women feature ablution facilities and integrated Qibla direction, while dedicated Quiet Zones provide comfortable seating, subdued lighting, blankets, eye masks, and earplugs for passengers seeking rest during longer layovers.

Additional facilities include private meeting rooms and dedicated breastfeeding spaces, with all Emirates lounges continuing to operate as quiet environments to provide a peaceful experience for travelers.

Adel Al Redha, Emirates’ Deputy President and Chief Operations Officer, said the new lounges are designed to deliver a seamless premium experience throughout every stage of the journey. He added that the global rollout of the next-generation concept will establish a new benchmark for airport lounges while further strengthening the airline’s premium offering.

The new signature lounge concept forms part of Emirates’ broader strategy to enhance customer experience both in the air and on the ground as the airline continues investing in premium products and services across its international network.
