Hainan Airlines, a Chinese airline, launched flights to Moscow from Haikou, the administrative center of China’s island province of Hainan. The news was reported by TASS, citing the airline’s announcement on the Chinese social media platform Weibo.
The flight to Moscow takes 10 hours and 10 minutes, while the return flight takes 9 hours and 35 minutes. The flights will operate between Moscow’s Sheremetyevo Airport and Haikou Meilan International Airport on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays.
This summer, Hainan province has become a popular destination for Russian tourists. According to the Hainan Department of Tourism, Culture, Radio, Television, and Sports, the island received over 495,000 visitors in the first half of the year, marking a more than 3.5-fold increase year-on-year. Among these visitors were approximately 49,300 tourists from Russia—13 times more than during the same period last year.
