Turkish Airlines carried 60.7 million passengers in the first eight months of 2025, up 5.8% compared to the same period last year. The airline’s load factor reached 82.7%, reflecting stronger seat utilization and efficient fleet management. International flights posted an 82.3% load factor, while domestic services hit 86.7%, underscoring robust demand across both segments.
A key growth driver has been international transfer traffic, which rose 10.3% year-on-year to 23.1 million passengers. This aligns with Turkish Airlines’ strategy of strengthening Istanbul’s role as a global aviation hub connecting Europe, Asia, and Africa.
Cargo operations also contributed to the airline’s momentum. Turkish Airlines transported 1.4 million tons of cargo and mail between January and August, a 5.4% increase from the year before.
August 2025 was particularly strong, with passenger numbers climbing 11.9% year-on-year to 9.4 million. International-to-international traffic jumped 17.3% to 3.49 million, while the monthly load factor rose to 86.7%. Domestic operations recorded an exceptional 92.6% load factor, highlighting strong summer travel demand.
The airline also expanded available seat kilometers (ASK) by 8.2% to 25.3 billion in August, alongside a 10.5% increase in cargo volumes to over 191,100 tons.
Turkish Airlines’ performance in both passenger and cargo segments underscores its resilience, adaptability, and strategic focus on international connectivity.
