Poland and Latvia Tighten Airspace Amid Rising Drone Threats

Poland has announced new flight restrictions along its borders with Belarus and Ukraine, in place until at least December 9. The government said the decision was made for security reasons following recent drone incursions into Polish airspace.

Latvia is taking similar measures. Defense Minister Andris Spruds stated that the country is closing its airspace along the borders with Belarus and Russia starting today and lasting at least until September 18. While there are no direct threats to Latvia at the moment, Spruds explained that the move is a response to Russian drone incidents reported in Poland.

With both nations stepping up control over their eastern borders, the restrictions highlight growing regional concerns over drone activity and airspace security.
