LOT Polish Airlines has announced a new direct route from Warsaw to Stavanger, offering passengers a unique opportunity to discover one of Scandinavia’s most breathtaking regions – Rogaland. The inaugural flight on this new service will take off on November 24, 2025.
Flights will operate four times a week – on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays – departing Warsaw Chopin Airport at 8:10 a.m. (LO489) and returning from Stavanger at 11:25 a.m. (LO490). The route will be served by Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft, with a flight time of just over two hours.
The new connection caters both to leisure travelers eager to explore Norway’s natural wonders and to the many Polish professionals working in Stavanger, a city that is not only the gateway to the fjords but also one of Europe’s leading oil industry hubs.
Stavanger: the capital of Rogaland
Located on Norway’s southwest coast, Stavanger combines historic charm with modern vibrancy. Its Old Town, Gamle Stavanger, is a maze of cobbled streets lined with colorful wooden houses, galleries, and cafés, offering visitors a taste of traditional Norway. The city also serves as a perfect starting point for exploring Rogaland’s dramatic landscapes.
Norway’s land of fjords
Among the region’s most famous sights is Preikestolen (Pulpit Rock), a 604-meter-high cliff overlooking the Lysefjord, considered one of the world’s most spectacular viewpoints. The fjord itself stretches for over 40 kilometers, with sheer granite walls plunging into crystal waters – best admired on a boat trip. Adventurers can also tackle the hike up to Kjerag, where the legendary Kjeragbolten boulder is wedged between two cliffs, suspended above a dizzying drop.
Rogaland is not only about mountains and fjords. Just outside Stavanger lies Sola Beach, ranked among Norway’s most beautiful, attracting surfers in summer and offering serenity in winter. Each season brings its own charm – from cozy winter days with crisp air and Nordic cafés, to long summer evenings perfect for hiking, cycling, or enjoying the region’s coastal scenery.
With this new LOT connection, Stavanger becomes more accessible than ever, inviting travelers to experience the raw beauty, rich culture, and year-round adventures of Norway’s fjord country.
