Wyndham Hotels to Open First Branded Resort in The Gambia

Ramada Resort by Wyndham Banjul is set to become the first internationally branded hotel in The Gambia, marking a significant step forward for the country’s tourism industry. This new development, a collaboration between G Wellness Company Limited—a subsidiary of MP Trading Group—and Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, promises to elevate hospitality standards and attract a broader range of visitors to the small West African nation.

Located in Kotu, a vibrant coastal town known for its picturesque beaches and bustling local markets, the resort is perfectly positioned to offer guests both relaxation and cultural immersion. Just 22 kilometers from Banjul International Airport and approximately 15 kilometers from the capital city of Banjul, the resort aims to serve leisure and business travelers alike with a blend of comfort, style, and convenience.

The Ramada Resort will feature 65 elegantly appointed guest rooms, all designed to meet international standards of comfort and luxury. Visitors can enjoy a variety of amenities, including an all-day dining restaurant that highlights local and international flavors, a lounge bar ideal for unwinding, an ocean-view swimming pool, a wellness spa, and state-of-the-art meeting facilities. These offerings cater to both tourists seeking a tropical getaway and business travelers requiring modern conveniences.

This project symbolizes a major milestone for The Gambia, a country gaining recognition for its rich culture, natural beauty, and growing tourism sector. In recent years, The Gambia has steadily increased its appeal as a travel destination, welcoming over 620,000 visitors in 2019 alone. With government efforts to boost infrastructure and services, the arrival of a globally recognized brand like Wyndham Hotels further positions The Gambia on the international tourism map.
