Air Seychelles Enhances Maintenance With Airbus FTM Services

Air Seychelles Airbus partnership is taking a major leap forward with the national airline of Seychelles selecting Airbus’ Flight Hour Services – Fleet Technical Management (FTM) to support the efficiency and reliability of its A320neo fleet.

Under this new agreement, Airbus will provide support for Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisation (CAMO) tasks, including engineering services to Air Seychelles’ Maintenance Control Centre. The focus of the partnership is to improve operational reliability while keeping maintenance costs in check and upholding the airline’s strong commitment to safety.

The FTM services package is designed to help airlines like Air Seychelles reduce unplanned maintenance and enhance aircraft availability. With Airbus offering technical assistance, spare parts planning, and engineering support, the airline can expect smoother day-to-day operations and better long-term planning across its fleet.

Dr. Michael Agathine, Head of Technical Operations at Air Seychelles, expressed confidence in the collaboration, saying, “We are excited to optimise our fleet performance with these enhanced services by partnering with Airbus. At Air Seychelles, we take safety and efficiency very seriously and this partnership underlines our commitment to maintaining the highest standards in our operations.”

Air Seychelles has operated Airbus A320 aircraft since 2012, and the A320neo continues to be central to its regional and international network. The long-standing relationship with Airbus has already helped the airline modernize its operations, and this latest technical service agreement deepens that cooperation.

Regis Boniau, Head of Customer Services for Airbus India and South Asia, commented on the renewed commitment: “Air Seychelles and Airbus have been close partners since 2012 with Air Seychelles operating the A320neo family aircraft. The selection of Airbus’ FTM services will leverage on Airbus’ unique engineering expertise to reduce unplanned maintenance, lower engineering and administration activities for our customer and less operational interruption ensuring increased aircraft availability.”

Airbus will also assist Air Seychelles in implementing preventive measures to improve fleet performance, reduce delays, and support long-term airworthiness strategies. These services aim to streamline the airline’s technical management and offer cost-effective solutions tailored to a growing fleet.

This collaboration is expected to benefit not only the airline but also passengers, who will enjoy improved flight reliability and safety. The move also reinforces Air Seychelles’ role in supporting the region’s aviation development while maintaining its high safety and performance standards.
