Air Canada extends transatlantic route offerings this summer by relaunching and expanding its popular Dublin to Vancouver service. The seasonal route officially resumed on Sunday, May 4, with Flight AC919 departing Dublin Airport and landing in Vancouver just nine hours later.
This relaunch marks the beginning of what is expected to be one of Air Canada’s busiest transatlantic seasons yet, with nearly 50 routes now connecting Europe and Canada—including three originating from Dublin. The airline is responding to growing demand from Irish travelers eager to explore the Canadian west coast.
In addition to the increased interest, a recent temporary suspension of Dublin Airport’s passenger cap has made it possible for Air Canada to ramp up capacity on the route. What was once a three-times-weekly summer route will now operate up to five times per week.
Originally scheduled to run from June through September, the Dublin–Vancouver route has now been extended from early May through mid-October. This six-month schedule gives Irish travelers more flexibility when planning trips to Canada, whether for leisure, business, or to visit family and friends.
As the only airline flying directly between Dublin and British Columbia, Air Canada’s service offers a rare and convenient gateway to Vancouver’s stunning natural landscapes, vibrant arts scene, and rich cultural offerings. The added flights are designed to meet strong travel demand and provide greater access to one of Canada’s most popular destinations.
Bláithín O’Donnell, Air Canada’s Sales Manager for Ireland, highlighted the importance of expanding the route: “We’re thrilled to be expanding our service between Dublin and Vancouver this summer, in response to growing demand for travel to Canada.” She emphasized that the extension is part of the airline’s broader commitment to the Irish market.
With Air Canada now operating five weekly flights for an extended season, travelers will benefit from increased flexibility and convenience across the Atlantic. Whether it’s hiking in the Canadian Rockies, enjoying Vancouver’s coastal culture, or reuniting with loved ones, the door to Western Canada is now open wider than ever.
