Ethiopian Airlines has announced the launch of a new passenger flight service to Porto, Portugal, beginning July 2, 2025. This expansion marks a significant milestone in the airline’s European network, further enhancing connectivity for travelers between Africa and Portugal.
Expanding Ethiopian Airlines’ European Reach
The new route will operate four times per week with a Boeing 787 Dreamliner, making a single stop in Madrid, Spain before continuing to Porto.

The new Addis Ababa–Porto service will operate four times a week as follows:
Outbound Flight (ET740)
- Departs Addis Ababa: Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays at 23:10
- Arrives in Madrid: Next day at 05:55
- Departs Madrid: Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays at 06:55
- Arrives in Porto: 07:15
Return Flight (ET741)
- Departs Porto: Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays at 19:55
- Arrives in Madrid: 21:10
- Departs Madrid: 23:10
- Arrives in Addis Ababa: Next day at 07:25
