Finnair and American Airlines have announced a new codeshare partnership, enabling seamless travel to 12 Mexican destinations starting January 23, 2025. The collaboration will offer Finnair customers greater connectivity to Mexico and beyond, strengthening the existing Atlantic Joint Business network.
Expanded Routes to Mexico
The agreement includes American Airlines flights from its Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) hub to the following Mexican destinations:
- Guanajuato
- Monterrey
- Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo
- Cancún
- Cozumel
- Guadalajara
- Mexico City
- Mérida
- Oaxaca
- Puerto Vallarta
- Querétaro
- San José del Cabo
Fredrik Wildtgrube, Finnair’s SVP of Alliances and Airline Partnerships, emphasized the importance of the collaboration:
“This cooperation opens up a comprehensive choice of destinations for our customers to Mexico, which is a popular travel destination from Finland and Northern Europe, especially during winter.”
Enhanced Connectivity via Dallas-Fort Worth
Dallas-Fort Worth, the home hub for American Airlines, is a significant gateway for Finnair. This winter, Finnair operates daily flights to DFW, and for summer 2025, the airline will increase capacity to up to 11 flights per week.
American Airlines Vice President of Partnerships, Anmol Bhargava, noted:
“We are happy to offer Finnair customers smoother access to popular destinations in Mexico. The expansion will give customers more convenient connections on American’s expansive network from Mexico to Finland and beyond.”
