Polish Rail Carrier PKP Intercity Adds New Routes from Przemyśl

PKP Intercity, Poland’s national rail carrier, has announced new routes in its 2024/2025 schedule, including additional connections from Przemyśl to Kraków and Berlin. Next year, PKP Intercity will operate 505 services, marking an increase of 51 routes compared to the current year, as reported by the carrier’s press office.

The updated schedule will feature more IC (InterCity) trains, offering enhanced comfort for passengers. Ongoing infrastructure upgrades may affect travel times temporarily but will ensure a more convenient and efficient rail network in the future.

New routes from Przemyśl include:

  • IC Galicja: Operating from Przemyśl through Kraków to Berlin, this will be the third train on this route, providing departures every four hours from Kraków and Wrocław to Germany’s capital.
  • IC Gierymski: This new service will connect Kraków with Przemyśl, improving domestic connectivity within Poland.

PKP Intercity is also expanding its network between Poland and the Czech Republic. The IC Baltic Express will connect major Polish cities—Gdańsk, Bydgoszcz, Poznań, Wrocław—with Pardubice and Prague in the Czech Republic.

From December, PKP Intercity will also reduce travel times on key routes. For example, travel from Warsaw to Szczecin will take just 4 hours and 18 minutes, and Warsaw to Białystok will be shortened to 1 hour and 30 minutes.
