Turkish Airlines to Launch New Route to Santiago, Chile

Turkish Airlines has announced plans to introduce a new destination from its hub in Istanbul. Starting in December, the national carrier of Turkey will begin flights to Santiago, the capital of Chile, known as the longest country in the world. This new route will operate with four weekly flights and include a stopover in São Paulo, Brazil.

The airline will use the Airbus A350-900 to service the route, offering passengers a comfortable long-haul experience. Santiago will become Turkish Airlines’ second-longest destination, with a flight distance of over 8,000 miles from Istanbul. The longest route in the airline’s network remains the flight to Melbourne, Australia, which covers more than 9,000 miles.

This expansion further strengthens Turkish Airlines’ global reach, connecting passengers from Istanbul to South America.
