Low-cost carrier IndiGo is introducing IndiGo Stretch, new business-class seats designed for India’s “most busy and business-oriented routes,” marking a shift in the airline’s model.
IndiGo Stretch seats, with a pitch of 96 cm and a width of 54 cm, offer a recline of about 13 cm. They feature six-way adjustable headrests with neck support, tablet holders, and PC and USB power ports.
Additionally, the airline has unveiled the premium-class RECARO R5 seat, which boasts a secluded headrest and a wide recline angle. These seats will be installed on a total of 45 A321neo aircraft, with deliveries beginning in the fourth quarter of this year and concluding by the end of 2025.
Each A321neo will feature 12 IndiGo Stretch seats.
Business-class passengers on flights between Delhi and Mumbai will be able to experience these comforts starting mid-November. IndiGo has also announced that, through gradual expansion, the product will be available on 12 routes by the end of next year.
This month, the Indian airline celebrates its 18th anniversary and has introduced a new loyalty program, IndiGo BluChip, which allows for pre-registration ahead of its official launch in September.
Furthermore, IndiGo is expecting 30 A350-900 aircraft, with deliveries set to begin in 2027.
