The Oman Civil Aviation Authority has announced plans to launch a new budget airline.
In a statement, the agency said the carrier “will leverage Oman’s strategic location and its modern, award-winning airports to enhance regional and international connectivity.”
The budget airline is expected to serve domestic routes and connect to broader regional and international networks.
In addition to the launch of the low-cost carrier, Oman plans to build six new airports, which are expected to be operational between 2028 and 2029. This will bring the total number of airports in the country to 13.
