The much-anticipated Entry/Exit System (EES) of the European Union, which will replace manual passport stamps for visa-holders entering the EU, has been postponed once again. Initially scheduled for October 6, 2024, the system is now expected to launch on November 10, 2024, with a further one-week delay to November 17th also a possibility.
While the EU has not officially confirmed the new date, reports suggest the delay aims to provide member states with more time to prepare for the long-awaited system, initially planned for launch in 2021. The European Commission (EC) has not announced a specific launch date but maintains the EES will be operational this fall.
