Flynas, the Saudi budget airline, has launched the kingdom’s first educational program for flight attendants to learn sign language. The knowledge gained from this program will enable flight crew members to assist passengers who are deaf or hard of hearing. The initiative has been endorsed by the local Association of People with Hearing Impairments.
The educational materials for this program cover all stages of passenger service—from check-in and boarding to in-flight meal organization and safety procedures.
According to the Saudi Press Agency, this step is part of Flynas’s ongoing policy to enhance interaction with travelers. Earlier in 2024, the low-cost carrier began training ground service and flight attendant staff in communication skills for assisting passengers with autism.
