Experts from the publication Freaking Nomads have identified the best cities for digital nomads to live and work. Hoi An, Vietnam, secured the top spot with an index close to 74. Delhi, India, came in second with a score of 73.77, followed by Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, with a score of 72.02.
The rankings were based on criteria such as internet speed, cost of living, and visa options.
The leader of the list, Hoi An in Vietnam, a UNESCO World Heritage site, achieved a maximum score of 73.94 out of 100. However, it ranked third in cost of living with a score of 85.48 out of 100 and 34th in visa availability with a score of 77.78 out of 100.
Delhi, India’s capital, scored 73.77 points, placing second overall. It topped the cost of living category with 89.03 points out of 100 and also ranked 34th in visa availability (77.78).
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, took third place with 72.02 points out of 100. The Malaysian capital was 19th in visa availability and 21st in cost of living.
Fourth place went to Da Nang, Vietnam, with 71.32 points. This bustling metropolis ranked 10th in cost of living with 80.72 points and 34th in visa availability with 77.84 points.
Mumbai, India, rounded out the top five with 69.81 points. The financial hub ranked 18th in cost of living and 24th in coworking spaces.
The list continues with Buenos Aires, Bangkok, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Bucharest, and Las Palmas.
