Slovenia to Increase Schengen Visa Fees Starting June 11

On May 20, the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of Slovenia announced an upcoming increase in Schengen visa fees, effective June 11, 2024. This change is part of a broader decision by the European Commission to raise the cost of short-term Schengen visas (Type C visas) worldwide by 12%.

The new fees will be as follows:

  • Adults: €90
  • Children aged 6 to 12: €45

The increase will apply globally from June 11. Although the European Commission has yet to announce the exact date of the fee increase, it is expected to publish the details in its Official Journal by the end of this week.

This fee adjustment highlights the importance for travelers to be aware of the new costs associated with obtaining a Schengen visa starting mid-June.
