Leonardo Hotels Acquires Hotel Cicerone Rome

On April 12, 2024, Leonardo Hotels announced the acquisition of the Hotel Cicerone Rome from Banco BPM. Following an extensive renovation, the property will reopen in early 2025 as NYX Hotel Rome by Leonardo Hotels, marking the brand’s debut in the Eternal City. This acquisition increases Leonardo Hotels’ presence to two hotels in Rome and seven in Italy.

Located in the Prati neighborhood, the hotel is ideally situated between the historic old town and Vatican City, with popular tourist attractions such as Castel Sant’Angelo, St. Peter’s Square, and the Spanish Steps just minutes away.

The hotel, currently closed for refurbishment, boasts nearly 300 rooms across eight floors, a restaurant, bar, courtyard with terrace, and a multi-storey car park, making it a prime location for city breaks in Rome. Additionally, three spacious meeting rooms with a capacity of up to 100 people make it an attractive venue for meetings and events.

Upon reopening, the NYX Hotel Rome will feature stylish rooms designed in line with the NYX concept, an extravagantly designed lobby, and an unconventional NYX bar and restaurant. NYX Hotels by Leonardo Hotels, the brand’s lifestyle label, is known for its creative hotel concept that blends individuality, local spirit, and hip extravagance. Characterized by its extraordinary art concept curated by local artists, the brand operates under the motto “We own the Night,” featuring party series, cultural events, and DJ nights. Simultaneously, the hotels offer an inspiring business and meeting environment with an urban vibe.

“We are delighted to have been awarded the contract for this traditional hotel in this desirable location in the center of Rome. With our first NYX hotel in Rome, we are set for further expansion in beautiful Italy,” said Yoram Biton, Managing Director of Leonardo Hotels Central Europe. “I’d like to thank BPM Bank and especially Mr. Ivano Asti for their professional cooperation in completing this deal,” Biton added.

The transformation of Hotel Cicerone into NYX Hotel Rome reflects Leonardo Hotels’ commitment to expanding its footprint and bringing its unique blend of creativity and urban style to more locations across Italy.
