Etihad Airways will revamp its loyalty program in June 2024, and one significant change will be the abandonment of “tier segments,” which will be converted into “mileage tiers.” This alteration aims to make it “easier for passengers to track their progress.” The required mileage for achieving or maintaining a status will remain the same.
To maintain Silver status, program participants will need 10,000 miles, Gold status will require 20,000 miles, and Platinum status will require 40,000 miles.
A new Diamond level will also be introduced, requiring Platinum status plus a minimum spending of $150,000 over a rolling 12-month period on Etihad flights.
Additionally, participants at the Platinum level will be able to earn 100% bonus guest miles for eligible flights operated by Etihad or its partner airlines, instead of the previous 75%.
In addition to the core benefits associated with each status, Etihad promises “individual benefits” for travelers at each level, including options such as lounge access, vouchers for carbon offset compensation, and complimentary chauffeur services.
Silver status holders can choose two special benefits, Gold level participants can select four, and Platinum level participants can enjoy five. Gold and Platinum passengers will also have the ability to gift some of these benefits.
