Flydubai will resume flights to Sochi from Dubai on June 16, 2024, according to the press service of Sochi Airport.
The flights to Sochi will operate three times a week—on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays—using Boeing 737 aircraft, with a flight time of 3 hours and 40 minutes.
Flydubai previously operated flights on this route from 2018 to 2020, completing 86 flights and transporting over 15,000 passengers during that period.
The announcement notes that Russian carriers Russia, Azimuth, and Red Wings currently operate flights on the Dubai-Sochi-Dubai route. In 2023, the passenger traffic on this route doubled, exceeding 77,000 people.
“The resumption of Flydubai flights will contribute to the development of tourist flows between Russia and the UAE, and will also allow passengers to connect through Dubai to the carrier’s extensive network to other countries,” said Alexander Nikonov, Deputy Director-General for Commercial Affairs at Aerodynamika LLC (which manages the airport).
