Aeroflot Plans to Transport More than 50 Million People in 2024

The CEO of the Aeroflot group, Sergey Alexandrovsky, announced at the plenary session of the civil aviation forum NAIS 2024 that the passenger traffic for the year 2024 could surpass 50 million people.

“We transported 47.3 million passengers last year, showing a 16.3% increase in 2022. For 2024, our plan is to exceed 50 million passengers,”

In September 2023, Alexandrovsky had mentioned that the Aeroflot group aimed to transport no less than 47 million people in 2024. He also indicated that the distribution of transportation between international and domestic flights would be maintained at 20% and 80%, respectively.

Breaking down the numbers for 2023, out of the 47.3 million passengers carried by Aeroflot, the flagship airline transported 25.2 million (a 22.8% YoY increase), the low-cost carrier Pobeda handled 13 million passengers (an 11.5% increase), and Rossiya transported 9.1 million passengers (a 7.3% increase).

On domestic routes, the entire group transported 37.7 million passengers, showing a 6.8% YoY increase and comparable to 2021. For international routes, the figure was 9.6 million passengers, marking increases of 4.2 million and 1.1 million compared to 2022 and 2021, respectively.
