Uzbekistan Airways to Increase Number of Flights to Russia

Uzbekistan Airways will increase the mumber of flights to Russia. The carrier has included flights to 40 destinations in Russia in the flight schedule, which will be valid from March 26 to October 28.

“In the upcoming spring-summer season, the airline will operate flights on 70 routes, including 40 destinations to Russia and 30 to CIS countries and far abroad,” the company said in a statement.

Uzbekistan Airways has been gradually increasing the number of direct flights to Russia since the beginning of 2022. In particular, the air carrier introduced additional flights from Tashkent to Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kazan, Krasnoyarsk, Mineralnye Vody, Novosibirsk and Samara. Regular flights to Orenburg, Nizhnevartovsk, Omsk and Nizhny Novgorod are also planned.

Regular flights between Russia and Uzbekistan were interrupted in March 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic. Flights began to resume on April 1, 2021.

Prior to the pandemic, Uzbekistan Airways operated 87 weekly flights to Russian cities. In turn, Russian airlines – 97 flights to the cities of Uzbekistan.

On February 15, an aircraft of the newly created Uzbek airline Centrum Air, flying on the route Tashkent-Fergana, landed at Fergana International Airport. By tradition, the plane with 86 passengers on board was solemnly greeted with a water arch.
