Azerbaijan Airlines and Lufthansa Technik AG have signed a comprehensive five-year contract regarding a Total Component Support (TCS) for the Boeing 787 Dreamliner wide-body long-range aircraft of the Republic of Azerbaijan’s national air carrier.
The TCS contract, which comes into effect on May 1, will significantly strengthen Azerbaijan Airlines’ technical operations. The carrier’s first TCS contract will give it 24/7 access to Lufthansa Technik’s global spare parts pool network. Among other services, the TCS includes an AOG (Aircraft On Ground) support that guarantees the airline shortest possible delivery times for spare parts.
In an important strategic step for the provision of maintenance and technical services, the contract has been tailored to include additional flexibility, so that it can easily cover the carrier’s planned fleet expansion. “Ensuring flight safety is Azerbaijan Airlines’ highest priority,” says Samir Rzayev, First Vice President of Azerbaijan Airlines. “The signing of an agreement with the leading component provider Lufthansa Technik is another example of this.”
“We are honored to support Azerbaijan Airlines on its growth path through our proven component support, and we are especially honored to service their flagship aircraft,” added Andreas van de Kuil, Vice President Sales Central Europe & CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States). “With this contract, Lufthansa Technik lives up to its outstanding reputation as a reliable partner in the global MRO industry and further expands its market share in the CIS.”
