Crowne Plaza Adelaide Officially Opens

Crowne Plaza Adelaide has officially opened, marking the return of the world-class premium hotel brand to the vibrant city of Adelaide. Guests can now experience the next era of Crowne Plaza with its new design philosophy, transformed lobby and public spaces, sensational sleep program and inspired dining destinations.

Opened by Senator the Hon Simon Birmingham, Minister for Finance, Trade, Tourism and Investment and Senator for South Australia, the ribbon cutting ceremony was also attended by The Hon. Minister for Trade and Investment Health Industries, Stephen Patterson; CEO of the South Australian Tourism Commission, Rodney Harrex, Lord Mayor Adelaide City Council, Sandy Verschoor, owner Kyren Group and Crowne Plaza Adelaide, Theo Samaras and AHA General Manager, Ian Horne.

Senator the Hon Simon Birmingham, Minister for Finance, Trade, Tourism and Investment and Senator for South Australia, said: “To those who have long dreamt and worked hard to deliver on this site, we extend an enormous thank you for the risks that you have taken, for the commitment that you have made to Adelaide, South Australia and to Australia by seeing the potential in investment like this.
“To the team here, a big congratulations on your official opening, it’s a wonderful step forward but it’s a real testament to your own resilience and courage during the course of this year, you have managed to adapt to the ever changing plans and re-invent and innovate in terms of the market segments that you’re targeting and be in a position to be able to celebrate today and we are confident to see beyond today the potential for guests and visitations, for events, functions, drives the type of support and the activity we want to see across Adelaide and right across Australia.”

Marissa Stavrou, Marketing Manager Kyren Group said: “We are so incredibly proud to be officially opening Adelaide’s tallest building which is now home to the Crowne Plaza Adelaide. Over the past four years from the project’s design phase, through to construction this project has delivered in excess of 2000 employment opportunities to South Australians and will continue to do so in the future. We are a proud South Australian family and team and we are so very grateful to all the local trades and organisations who have assisted us to deliver this iconic building to the city of Adelaide. To our staff, your work has been second to none and enormously appreciated.”
