Kazakhstan is relatively a new MICE destination located between Europe and Asia, however with a robust track record of hosting business, political and sports events at its major hubs, Nur-Sultan and Almaty, including PATA Travel Mart 2019, UNWTO General Assembly, World Wrestling and Boxing, Hockey championships, the 7th Asian Winter Games, the 28th World Winter Universiade, the Congress of Representatives of World and Traditional Religions, the OSCE Summit, the EXPO-2017 exhibition among others.
Nur-Sultan and Almaty have established themselves as regional MICE hubs boasting state-of-the-art infrastructure and venues. Both cities are well connected by the world’s major airlines and feature major international hotel brands.
Kazakh Tourism is а national level destination marketing and MICE the company, а subsidiary of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of Kazakhstan, whose aim is to further develop and increase national travel industry and establish Kazakhstan as a top the destination for international conventions, corporate meetings, and incentive travel in the Eurasian region.
ICCA – the International Congress and Convention Association – is the global community and knowledge hub for the international association meetings industry. ICCA, which has been operating in the MICE sector since 1963, unites over 1,100 members in almost 100 countries around the world. Kazakh tourism will be representing the Central European region.
