Azimuth to Launch St. Petersburg – Elista Flights

On April 3, 2019, Azimuth will launch direct scheduled flights from Pulkovo St. Petersburg Airport to the Russian city of Elista. The capital of the Republic of Kalmykia, a region in the Southwest Russia on the Caspian Sea, will be a new destination on St. Petersburg airport’s route map. The service has not been operated since 2011.

The flights will be performed on modern Russian aircraft Sukhoi Superjet 100.

In the first two months of 2019, Azimuth served 28.6 thousand people at Pulkovo, which represents a 44.7% increase compared with the same period in 2018. In the previous year, the airline’s passenger traffic in St. Petersburg amounted to 166 thousand people. Azimuth won Pulkovo’s LED Together 2018 annual award as the best developing regional carrier at St. Petersburg airport.

With the new additions announced for the upcoming summer season, the route network of Azimuth at Pulkovo will feature five domestic destinations, including Krasnodar, Rostov-on-Don, and Stavropol. Additionally, the airline is planning to provide scheduled service from St. Petersburg to the Russian city of Kaluga starting May 5, 2019.

Azimuth is the carrier of the Southern Russia. The airline has a modern fleet of Sukhoi Superjet aircraft in its long-range modification SSJ100-95LR.
