What Is eTA?

eTA or electronic travel authorization is an automated system used by certain countries to determine the eligibility of foreign travelers to enter their borders without a visa. It is typically required for travelers who are citizens of countries eligible for visa-exempt entry. The eTA process involves completing an online application form with personal and travel information and paying a fee. Once approved, the eTA is electronically linked to the traveler’s passport and allows them to enter the country for short-term stays, usually for tourism, business, or transit purposes.
