What Is a MCT?

MCT stands for “Minimum Connection Time.” It refers to the shortest amount of time required for a passenger to make a connecting flight at a particular airport without the risk of missing their next flight. The MCT is determined by the airport’s authorities and takes into account factors such as terminal layout, distance between gates, immigration and security procedures, and the efficiency of the airport’s operations. Airlines use Minimum Connection Time to schedule connecting flights and ensure that passengers have adequate time to transfer between flights without delays.
