Transavia Announces New Summer Destinations for 2020

This coming summer Transavia will be flying to three new destinations from Rotterdam The Hague Airport: Bilbao in Spain, Edinburgh in Scotland and Perugia in Italy. The flights to Amman, Jordan from Amsterdam Airport Schiphol that commence from 1 October 2019, will also be offered next summer. Transavia’s summer schedule starts on 1 April and runs until 31 October 2020. Tickets are available from 17 September 2019.

“By constantly listening with a critical ear to the demand from the market and by optimising our flights within the increasingly growing shortage of available airport capacity, we have a versatile route network with many wonderful and popular destinations in the pipeline for summer 2020”, said Erik-Jan Gelink, Head of Commercial at Transavia.

Bilbao is the largest city in the northern Spanish Basque Country region. The city is situated in the Biscay territory and is surrounded by woods, mountains, beaches and steep coasts. And the region is known for its many culinary delights. You can relax and unwind at one of the local bars and eat the most delicious tapas. But, there is more. You can visit the world-famous Guggenheim Museum or the Cathedral of Santiago. The indoor market ‘Mercado de la Ribera’ is also highly recommended. Go shopping around the streets of Indautxi and Ensanche and go out in the Abando district.
Transavia will be flying to Bilbao three times a week: on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

Scotland’s capital city: Edinburgh. A city filled with myths and legends. Visit Edinburgh Castle where you can see the Scottish crown jewels and the Stone of Destiny, for example. And the ‘Auld Reekie’, where the past comes back to life. Edinburgh is not only the capital, it is also a leading festival city and UNESCO World Heritage Site. You can go shopping, dine in world-class restaurants and the city has a lively café culture and art scene.
Transavia will be flying to Edinburgh four times a week: on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays.

Perugia is the capital of Umbria, situated between the cities of Florence and Rome. The city is therefore in central Italy and close to the River Tiber. When you walk under the arches of Via Priori you arrive in a beautiful Medieval area. Wander through wonderful authentic streets and admire the impressive city walls. You can drink an aperitivo among the students from across the globe. And who isn’t familiar with the chocolate kisses: the Baci from Perugia? There is an enormous chocolate factory just outside the city, and where you will find the museum La Casa del Cioccolato. In the museum you can find out all about the history of the Baci and the many types of chocolate from Perugia.
Transavia will be flying to Perugia twice a week: on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Other flight additions

In the summer of 2020, we will be putting on additional flights from Amsterdam to the popular destinations of Beirut, Lebanon and Keflavík in Iceland. And from Eindhoven Airport, next summer we will be flying more frequently to the Greek destinations of Heraklion and Zakynthos.
