The Top 10 Tallest Hotels in the World

When traveling, you have the opportunity to wake up above the clouds by booking a room in a skyscraper hotel. According to the statistical portal Statista, the highest likelihood of experiencing this lies in Asian cities: seven out of the ten tallest hotels in the world are located in this region.

Not all skyscrapers are exclusively dedicated to hotel accommodations throughout the entire building: often, a hotel only occupies a portion of a massive high-rise structure, coexisting with offices, apartments, shops, and other commercial spaces. The most scenic, and therefore, expensive rooms are typically situated on the highest floors.

Here are the top 10 tallest hotels in the world:

  1. J Hotel Shanghai Tower, Shanghai. Located in the Shanghai Tower, the tallest building in China (632 meters). The lobby is on the 101st floor at a height of 474 meters. Guest rooms are from the 86th to 98th floors, and there’s a pool on the 84th floor. The panoramic restaurant on the 120th floor provides breathtaking views of Shanghai’s financial center and the cityscape.
  2. JW Marriott Marquis, Dubai. This hotel held the title of the world’s tallest for a long time, with a building height of 355 meters. It opened in 2012 and features 1608 rooms, 14 different restaurants, a spa center, and an outdoor pool with stunning views of Dubai’s skyscrapers.
