Marriott Opens Second Hotel in Nairobi – JW Marriott Hotel Nairobi

Marriott International has announced the opening of its second hotel in Nairobi under the JW brand. It is situated in the commercial district of Westlands. The hotel stands at 35 stories high, making it the tallest in the country.

JW Marriott Hotel Nairobi features 315 rooms. Guests can enjoy amenities such as a swimming pool, spa salon, fitness center, and five restaurants. These include the café-patisserie MIDI, the African cuisine restaurant Myna, the upscale Mughal, and the sports bar Hudson Tavern, which hosts live sports broadcasts.

Later this year, the opening of the modern pan-Asian cuisine lounge bar Mr. Pang Sky is expected on the 31st floor. It will also feature an open terrace and two private dining rooms. Additionally, the hotel offers meeting and event spaces spanning 1,700 square meters, including a ballroom for 800 people.

The interiors are designed by George Wong with an “African adventure” theme. The spaces feature a natural palette of browns, greens, and terracotta hues.

In November 2022, Marriott announced plans to open 30 hotels across Africa by the end of 2024, including The Ritz-Carlton Rabat, Dar Es Salam. Last year saw the opening of JW Marriott Masai Mara Lodge in the region.
