Frontier Airlines Introduces ‘Green Class’

Frontier Airlines recently introduced “Green Class,” a new class of service designed to meet the growing consumer demand for sustainable air travel. With the industry’s most fuel-efficient fleet and a variety of additional eco-friendly features, Frontier’s Green Class offers customers sustainability at every level.

“Frontier is proud to introduce a new class of service for all of our customers, Green Class,” Barry Biffle, President, and CEO of Frontier Airlines said. “Consumers are now looking for choices that align with the values they hold, and I am proud that Frontier is able to provide that choice for our valued passengers and empower them to make air travel a part of their personal sustainable choices.”

All seats on Frontier are upgraded to Green Class. Customers will enjoy:

• Guaranteed overhead storage for carry-ons

• A wifi-free environment with freedom from their inbox

• Planet Priority designed seating with personal space protection (no rude reclining)

• Eco-friendly service items- no straws!

• Personalized entertainment choices with the latest technology (brought by customers)

• Peace of mind – that customers have made a thoughtful and responsible choice

Green Class culminates Frontier’s six-year effort to become America’s Greenest Airline. Today, Frontier operates the largest A320neo fleet in the U.S., and with an average fleet age of four years, is on average 39% more fuel-efficient than other U.S. airlines.

Frontier’s fuel savings is equivalent to the carbon used to produce 359 billion straws, or the fuel used to make 15.2 billion plastic bottles, or the greenhouse gas emissions from 192,000 cars on the road for one year. In total, that’s an average of 19 barrels of oil saved for every flight completed by Frontier, and 102 million gallons of fuel saved in 2018 alone.

Beyond operating an exclusively Airbus A320 family fleet, Frontier has taken a number of steps to make flying more sustainable, including the addition by the end of 2019 of compostable cold and hot cups, napkins made from recycled materials, bamboo stir sticks, as well as tray tables custom-built for modern technology.
