Residential cruise company Villa Vie Residences has announced plans to expand its fleet with a second ship, Legacy, scheduled to enter service in 2029.

The new vessel will build on the concept introduced with Odyssey, offering significantly larger residences, expanded public areas and enhanced dining facilities. Prices for residences aboard Legacy will be approximately 30% higher than those currently available on Odyssey.

Larger Homes and Expanded Amenities

According to Villa Vie, residences on Legacy will be around 50% larger than those on Odyssey. The ship will also feature more spacious public areas and additional dining venues designed to enhance the long-term onboard living experience.

The company has not yet revealed which existing cruise ship will be acquired and converted into Legacy.

Residency Program to Cover Both Ships

Villa Vie’s Endless Horizons lifetime residency program will be expanded to include both Odyssey and Legacy, allowing residents to enjoy permanent residency rights across the two vessels.

The company has also introduced the Legacy Bridge Program for buyers who want to secure a residence on the new ship without waiting until its launch. The first 24 new residence purchases aboard Odyssey will include a guaranteed right to move into a comparable residence on Legacy while continuing to pay Odyssey maintenance fees. The offer is available for purchases completed before the end of September.

Odyssey Continues Global Voyage

Villa Vie launched Odyssey in 2024 after converting the former Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines ship Braemar into a residential cruise vessel operating continuous world voyages.

The company offers several ownership options, including lifetime residency, five-year residency and cabin ownership rights. Villa Vie said approximately 85% of the ship’s 650 residences have already been sold.

In addition to ownership programs, travelers can also rent accommodations aboard Odyssey or participate in a rent-to-own scheme.
