citizenM Opens First Marriott Bonvoy Hotel in Georgetown, Washington DC

citizenM is expanding its presence in the US capital with the opening of citizenM Washington, D.C. Georgetown in June 2026, marking the brand’s first hotel debut under the Marriott Bonvoy portfolio.

The 230-room property will become citizenM’s third hotel in Washington, D.C., combining the brand’s technology-driven hospitality concept with Georgetown’s historic character and vibrant cultural scene.

First citizenM Hotel Under Marriott Bonvoy

The opening represents a significant milestone following Marriott International’s partnership with Another Star, the hotel management company that owns and operates citizenM’s growing portfolio across Europe and North America.

Guests staying at citizenM properties can now earn and redeem Marriott Bonvoy points, while members of citizenM’s mycitizenM+ subscription program receive instant Marriott Bonvoy Gold Elite status.

The Georgetown opening is the first citizenM property to launch under the Marriott Bonvoy umbrella.

Prime Location in Historic Georgetown

Located at 3401 K Street, the hotel sits within walking distance of Georgetown’s waterfront, shopping districts, restaurants and cafés.

The property is also conveniently positioned for visitors to Georgetown University and provides easy access to many of Washington’s most popular attractions.

Georgetown remains one of the capital’s most sought-after neighborhoods, known for its historic architecture, upscale boutiques and lively atmosphere.

Bold Design and Local Art

Designed by citizenM’s longtime architecture partner, Concrete Amsterdam, the hotel reflects the brand’s signature design-focused approach.

Public spaces include a welcoming living room-style lounge, flexible work areas and a collection of contemporary artworks, including a newly commissioned mural by Washington-based artist J.D. Deardourff.

The property aims to serve both travelers and local residents as a place to meet, work, relax and socialize.

Smart Rooms Designed for Modern Travelers

Guest rooms feature citizenM’s highly efficient design concept, focused on maximizing comfort within a compact footprint.

Each room includes an XL king-size bed stretching wall-to-wall, luxury bedding, free Wi-Fi, a 4K widescreen television with streaming capabilities and a powerful rain shower.

Guests can control room features such as lighting, climate settings, television functions and window blinds through an in-room iPad.

Flexible Spaces for Work and Leisure

The hotel’s amenities include the brand’s signature canteenM concept, offering food, snacks and drinks around the clock, alongside a 24-hour fitness center.

The design caters particularly to the growing “bleisure” segment, combining business and leisure travel through flexible communal spaces and technology-enabled services.

A Different Approach to Hospitality

citizenM’s service model is built around its multi-skilled hotel ambassadors, who are trained across multiple roles ranging from reception and concierge services to food and beverage operations.

The company says ambassadors are selected primarily for their personality and local knowledge, enabling them to provide guests with authentic recommendations and personalized assistance throughout their stay.

With the addition of Georgetown, citizenM continues its expansion across key urban markets, joining existing properties in destinations including New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, Miami, Seattle, Austin and several major cities across Europe.
