VietJet To Launch Prague-Hanoi Flights Via Almaty On 10 October

VietJet Air is preparing to expand into the European market with plans to launch flights between Hanoi and Prague starting in October 2026.

The Vietnamese low-cost carrier has filed operational schedules for a new Hanoi – Almaty – Prague route, marking one of the airline’s first major long-haul European expansions.

New Prague Route Scheduled From October 2026

According to the published schedule, VietJet Air plans to begin operating the service from 10 October 2026 using Airbus A330-300 aircraft.

The route will operate via Almaty in Kazakhstan before continuing onward to Prague in the Czech Republic.

Reservations for the new service have already appeared on the airline’s website, although fare availability remains limited.

Winter Schedule Shows Twice-Weekly Service

The currently filed winter 2026 schedule indicates the route will operate twice weekly.

Flight VJ031 is scheduled to depart Hanoi at 08:45, arriving in Almaty at 13:20 before continuing to Prague with an arrival time of 18:30.

The return service, VJ032, is scheduled to depart Prague at 20:30 and arrive back in Hanoi the following day at 16:45 via Almaty.

Airbus A330 Fleet Supports Long-Haul Expansion

VietJet Air plans to operate the route using Airbus A330-300 widebody aircraft, which the airline has increasingly deployed on medium and long-haul international services.

The carrier has been steadily expanding beyond its traditional short-haul low-cost network as demand for international travel across Asia and Europe continues growing.

Prague Gains New Asian Connectivity

The launch would strengthen air connectivity between Vietnam and Central Europe while also improving links between Prague and Southeast Asia.

Prague Airport has continued attracting new long-haul services as European aviation markets recover and airlines expand intercontinental operations.

The Czech capital remains a popular destination for both leisure tourism and business travel within Central Europe.

Almaty Emerging As Transit Hub

The inclusion of Almaty as an intermediate stop highlights the growing role of Central Asian airports as transit points between Asia and Europe.

Airlines across the region have increasingly explored alternative routing strategies connecting Southeast Asia with Europe.

VietJet Continues International Growth Strategy

The Prague service forms part of VietJet Air’s wider international expansion strategy as the airline seeks to compete more aggressively in medium and long-haul travel markets.

The carrier has continued adding new international destinations while expanding its Airbus widebody fleet to support longer-distance operations.
