VietJet Air Launches Direct Flights Between Vietnam’s Nha Trang And Ufa

Vietnamese low-cost carrier VietJet Air is launching direct flights between Nha Trang and Ufa starting May 21, expanding travel options between Vietnam and Russia ahead of the summer tourism season.

The new route will connect the Russian city of Ufa with one of Vietnam’s most popular beach destinations, marking another step in the recovery of international leisure travel demand between the two countries.

New Direct Flights To Operate Twice Weekly

According to Ufa Airport, VietJet Air will operate the route twice a week on Mondays and Thursdays using Airbus A330-300 aircraft.

The flights will connect Ufa directly with Nha Trang, a coastal resort city in southern Vietnam known for its beaches, resorts and growing popularity among Russian tourists.

The launch comes as demand for Asian leisure destinations continues increasing among Russian travellers looking for warm-weather holidays and visa-friendly destinations.

Nha Trang Returns As A Popular Russian Tourism Route

The Ufa–Nha Trang route previously operated through charter services before being suspended during earlier disruptions to international travel.

According to airport officials, the route was previously served by AZUR air in 2017 with flights operating approximately every 10 to 11 days before services later resumed again in 2025.

Now, multiple airlines are returning to the Vietnam market from Ufa as tourism demand strengthens.

More Airlines Expanding Vietnam Flights

In addition to VietJet Air, other carriers are also increasing flights between Ufa and Nha Trang this month.

Nordwind Airlines is scheduled to begin operations on May 22 with weekly Friday flights, while AZUR air is expected to resume Sunday services from May 24.

The growing number of flights reflects renewed competition in the outbound leisure travel market as airlines target high-demand beach destinations across Southeast Asia.

Vietnam Continues Attracting International Travellers

Nha Trang has become one of Vietnam’s fastest-growing tourism destinations thanks to its tropical climate, beachfront resorts and relatively affordable holiday packages.

The city has long been especially popular with Russian tourists, with direct charter and scheduled flights historically playing a major role in regional tourism flows.

Vietnam overall continues investing heavily in tourism infrastructure and international connectivity as the country works to strengthen its position within Asia’s competitive travel market.

VietJet Air Expands International Presence

Founded in 2007 and headquartered in Ho Chi Minh City, VietJet Air has grown into one of Southeast Asia’s largest low-cost carriers.

The airline has increasingly expanded its international network in recent years, focusing on both leisure travel routes and underserved regional markets.

For travellers in Russia, the new Ufa connection offers another direct gateway to Vietnam’s beach destinations at a time when demand for international holiday travel continues recovering strongly.
