W Hotels Expands In Italy With Opening Of W Sardinia – Poltu Quatu

W Hotels Debuts In Sardinia

W Hotels has officially opened W Sardinia – Poltu Quatu, marking the luxury lifestyle brand’s arrival on the island of Sardinia and expanding its growing presence across Italy.

The opening follows a preview launch in 2025 and adds to the brand’s Italian portfolio alongside W Rome and W Florence.

Located on Sardinia’s northeast coast between Porto Cervo and Baia Sardinia, the resort overlooks Marina dell’Orso in the coastal village of Poltu Quatu, an area known for its dramatic granite cliffs, crystal-clear waters and Mediterranean scenery.

Luxury Resort Designed Around Sardinia’s Landscape

Built into a natural fjord, the resort combines whitewashed architecture with the rugged coastal environment that defines this part of Sardinia.

The property was designed by the New York-based studio Meyer Davis, which also created the interiors for W Rome.

W Sardinia features 157 guestrooms and suites designed as immersive luxury retreats inspired by the island’s landscape, textures and relaxed coastal atmosphere.

According to W Hotels Global Brand Leader George Fleck, the opening reflects the company’s strategy of expanding into culturally distinctive destinations.

“Italy’s cultural influence is unmatched – from design and cuisine to music and fashion – and Sardinia brings a distinct rhythm all its own,” Fleck said.

Restaurants, Spa And Social Spaces Shape The Experience

The resort centers around several signature social and lifestyle spaces, including TANIT, a seafood restaurant overlooking the marina, the W Lounge, the WET Deck pool terrace, AWAY Spa and FIT wellness studio.

The public spaces blend natural materials with contemporary design, drawing inspiration from Sardinia’s coastal environment, local flora and ancient Mediterranean influences.

The W Lounge serves as a central gathering space, while the outdoor WET Deck is designed for daytime relaxation and evening entertainment overlooking the granite landscape.

Sardinian Cuisine Meets Modern Luxury

Dining at the resort focuses heavily on Sardinian culinary traditions reinterpreted through a modern luxury approach.

The hotel says its restaurants emphasize local ingredients, seafood and Mediterranean flavors while incorporating contemporary presentation and international influences.

The culinary program is designed to reflect Sardinia’s long-standing culture of communal dining and coastal hospitality.

Private Marina Offers Access To Sardinia’s Coastline

Guests staying at the resort can also access curated boating experiences directly from the hotel’s private marina.

In partnership with Fjord 41 XL speedboats, the resort offers excursions along Sardinia’s coastline, including visits to hidden coves, secluded beaches and the La Maddalena Archipelago.

Day trips to the island of Caprera are also available as part of the resort’s luxury coastal experiences.

The opening further strengthens Sardinia’s position as one of the Mediterranean’s leading luxury tourism destinations, particularly within the growing lifestyle hotel segment.
