The Ritz-Carlton Launches Luxury SailGP Experiences In New York

The Ritz-Carlton is introducing a series of exclusive luxury experiences tied to the upcoming New York Sail Grand Prix as partof its global partnership with the U.S. SailGP Team.

The hospitality brand will offer curated race weekend packages at The Ritz-Carlton New York, NoMad and The Ritz-Carlton New York, Central Park, combining premium accommodations with insider access to one of the world’s fastest-growing international sporting events.

Luxury Hospitality Meets High-Performance Sailing

The New York Sail Grand Prix will take place on 30 and 31 May, bringing SailGP’s high-speed F50 catamarans to the Hudson River for head-to-head racing between 13 national teams.

The Ritz-Carlton, an official sponsor of the U.S. SailGP Team, said the partnership reflects the brand’s focus on combining luxury travel with global sporting and cultural experiences.

The company described the collaboration as part of a wider strategy to expand beyond traditional hospitality through ventures such as The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection and experiential partnerships.

Central Park Sailing Activation Planned

As part of the celebrations, The Ritz-Carlton will host a one-day public activation on 30 May at Conservatory Water in Central Park.

The event will transform the historic Kerbs Boathouse into “The Ritz-Carlton Sailing Club” and invite guests to race bespoke radio-controlled sailboats across the iconic pond known for its miniature sailing boats.

The activation will also feature live music, elevated summer food offerings and family-friendly activities inspired by the Ritz Kids programme.

A live broadcast of the SailGP race will be shown from 3:30pm to 5pm, bringing the atmosphere of the competition into one of Manhattan’s best-known public spaces.

Exclusive Race Day Packages Available

For race day on 31 May, guests can book “The Ultimate SailGP Experience” package at both participating Ritz-Carlton hotels.

The experience includes two Premium On-the-Water tickets aboard an official spectator vessel positioned directly along the racecourse in New York Harbor.

Packages also include overnight accommodation, daily breakfast, transportation to the boarding point, embroidered boat totes and official branded hats.

The stays will be available between 29 May and 2 June, although package inclusions vary depending on the property.

Partnership Focuses On Experiential Luxury

U.S. SailGP Team principal and co-owner Mike Buckley said the partnership with The Ritz-Carlton allows the team to expand race weekend experiences throughout New York while connecting sport, culture and hospitality.

Marriott International Global Head of Luxury Marketing George Hammer added that the collaboration reflects growing demand for immersive experiences that combine luxury travel with major global sporting events.

The race weekend packages are currently available for a limited booking period.
