As winter settles over Northern Europe, Latvian airline airBaltic has unveiled where travelers from the Baltic capitals are heading this season. From sun-soaked escapes to bustling city breaks, passengers from Riga, Tallinn, and Vilnius are embracing diverse travel moods—seeking warmth, culture, and convenience in equal measure.
From airBaltic’s main hub in Riga, the leading destinations this winter include Barcelona, Dubai, London, Munich, Paris, and Prague. The mix says it all: travelers are combining winter sunshine with classic European elegance and business connections. Barcelona is served five times weekly, while Dubai offers six weekly flights—perfect for those looking to swap snow for desert heat. London and Munich operate up to two daily flights, Paris up to two as well, and Prague up to six weekly services, providing ample options for weekend getaways or work trips.
From Tallinn, the most popular routes include Amsterdam, Barcelona, Brussels, Copenhagen, Munich, and Vilnius. airBaltic connects Tallinn with Amsterdam twice daily and flies to Brussels five times per week—highlighting the capital’s growing role as a key Baltic hub for both leisure and business travel.
From Vilnius, passengers are favoring Amsterdam, Dubai, Munich, Paris, Tallinn, and Tenerife. Amsterdam is served twice daily, Dubai three times weekly, and Tenerife three times weekly—offering Lithuanian travelers a perfect mix of urban vibrancy and island relaxation.
This winter, airBaltic is operating more than 90 direct routes across its bases, giving travelers in the region a wider choice than ever before. The airline has also launched four new routes: Riga to Faro in Portugal, Tallinn to Madeira, and Gran Canaria to both Ljubljana and Molde. These additions further strengthen the airline’s position as the go-to carrier for Baltic travelers seeking sun and adventure.
In response to strong demand, airBaltic is boosting frequencies to Amsterdam from all three capitals and expanding Dubai flights from Riga and Vilnius—ensuring even smoother connections to major global hubs. From Riga, the airline has also increased flights to Egypt’s resort destinations of Sharm El-Sheikh and Hurghada to three per week and resumed its Riga–Dublin route with two weekly flights.
Looking ahead, airBaltic plans to start its Riga–Catania route earlier than usual in February 2026, a welcome change for travelers dreaming of Sicily before spring even arrives.
As the Baltic region’s vital link to Europe and beyond, airBaltic continues to expand its reach through more than 20 codeshare partners, offering seamless one-stop connections to over 200 destinations worldwide. Whether for winter sunshine, new experiences, or familiar favorites, Baltic travelers have no shortage of places to explore this season.
