Hyatt has announced the debut of its Hyatt Regency brand in Zambia with the upcoming opening of Hyatt Regency Lusaka The Pamodzi. The property, currently operating as The Pamodzi Hotel, will undergo an extensive renovation while remaining open to guests, with completion scheduled for 2026.
The new Hyatt Regency Lusaka will feature 170 guest rooms and suites, offering modern design, comfort and functionality. The hotel will also include versatile event and meeting spaces suitable for both large conferences and intimate gatherings, catering to the needs of business and leisure travelers alike.
Centrally located, the property provides convenient access to Lusaka’s business district and key attractions, including the National Museum, which showcases Zambia’s cultural and artistic heritage. Guests will also be within a 30-minute drive of Game Rangers International, a national park and elephant sanctuary.
The launch of Hyatt Regency Lusaka marks an important milestone for Hyatt’s expansion in Africa. The company’s portfolio on the continent currently includes more than ten operating or developing hotels across South Africa, Morocco, Ethiopia, Kenya and Tanzania, with plans to continue growing in emerging urban and commercial centers.
