A Five-Senses Feast: What to Expect at the 2025 Hong Kong Food Expo

This August, the heartbeat of Hong Kong’s Wan Chai district will pulse with flavor, fragrance, and futuristic living as the city welcomes back Hong Kong Food Expo, one of Asia’s most anticipated lifestyle events. From August 14–18, the 35th Hong Kong Food Expo, 9th Beauty & Wellness Expo, and 11th Home Delights Expo will transform the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre into a multisensory marketplace. Whether you’re a food lover, a tea aficionado, a wellness enthusiast, or a tech-savvy homemaker, there’s something in store—and on sale—for you.

Organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), this year’s edition is bigger than ever, hosting nearly 1,900 exhibitors from 35 countries and regions, including first-time participants like Brazil, Mongolia, and Zimbabwe. Add to that the 3rd Food Expo PRO and 16th Hong Kong International Tea Fair, and you’ve got five buzzing expos under one roof. Think of it as a one-stop global bazaar for gourmet delights, skincare gems, smart home gadgets, and everything in between.

A Culinary World Tour Without Leaving Hong Kong

Step into the Gourmet Zone, where award-winning beef noodles from Taiwan sit beside gelato infused with locally crafted nut butter and Japanese wagashi by 80-year-old brand Meigetsudo. Sip on Dubai chocolate, sample Chinese sake, or linger at the Mezzanine Pub, a stylish collaboration spotlighting Hong Kong’s first local whiskey and herb-infused liqueurs. And if you’re looking to sharpen your culinary skills, watch star chefs like Sze Chiu Kwan and Stefanie Leung cook up showstoppers live.

Food Expo PRO, open to trade and public on its final day, dives deeper into food innovation. New additions like the “Coffee Zone” highlight Yunnan beans, artisanal brews, and a cupping competition that brings out Hong Kong’s finest baristas. Halal products are in strong focus again this year, as Hong Kong continues to build its identity as a Muslim-friendly destination.

Sip, Savor, and Steep: The Tea Fair Goes Public

For the first time ever, the Hong Kong International Tea Fair opens all three days to public visitors. You’ll find rare Bai Hao Yin Zhen, antioxidant-rich Sri Lankan purple tea, and kombucha champagne tea sitting next to artisan teaware and tea-infused perfumes. The vibe is both traditional and trendy. There’s even a Tea Art Competition connecting youth across the Greater Bay Area and free tastings of the best teas in town.

Beyond Beauty: Wellness in Full Bloom

The Beauty & Wellness Expo blends self-care and soul-care. At the new “Scentsation” zone, over 20 brands—including the ever-popular Lush—showcase everything from magnesium massage bars to flower-scented body oils. Need a pick-me-up? Decompress at the Body Mind Spirit zone, where you’ll find hand massages, gong baths, and sand painting. Complimentary salon services are on offer—if you’re lucky enough to snag a spot.

Smart Homes Start Here

In the Home Delights Expo, innovation meets elegance. Discover smart steam washing machines, food warming turntables, and the do-it-all Thermomix—compact enough for Hong Kong’s smallest flats, powerful enough to replace 30 appliances. Celebrating Snoopy’s 75th birthday, there’s even a themed “Hide & Seek” photo challenge for kids (and adults who are kids at heart).

Daily Themes, Daily Surprises

Themed days bring added flair, whether it’s “Shall We Tea” with dim sum workshops and tea therapy, “Asian Delights” featuring Vietnamese and Thai cuisine demos, or “Taste of HK”, a local produce celebration that invites visitors to shop farm-to-table style.

The International Conference of the Modernization of Chinese Medicine and Health Products (ICMCM) also returns with 21 speakers sharing groundbreaking insights on how traditional medicine is tackling modern diseases—from cancer to cardiovascular issues.

Celebrating 35 Years with Surprises and Sweet Deals

To mark its 35th anniversary, the Food Expo is handing out 350 free early-entry tickets daily, launching a HK$35 product showcase, and offering over HK$1 million in prizes, from high-end kitchenware to beauty bundles. A HK$300 spend earns you a shot at the lucky draw. Don’t miss the “Treasure Hunt” in Hall 3—scan, solve, and score.

If you’re in Hong Kong—or need a reason to visit—this five-day celebration of taste, touch, and tech is the event of the season. Come hungry, leave inspired.
